SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Once again Bob Vogel successfully defended his Stock Service Pistol division title at the International Defensive Pistol Association’s (IDPA) 2014 Smith & Wesson IDPA Indoor National Championship, marking this as the seventh straight year he has won his division at the match.
Vogel won the title with a final time of 161.59 with 49 points down – the fastest overall time of any competitor in the championship. In addition to claiming the SSP title, Vogel’s finish also earned him High Industry honors.
“Bob Vogel remains IDPA’s top ranked shooter with an impressive string of wins at our biggest and toughest matches. I join with his fellow competitors in congratulating Bob on this latest victory,” said Joyce Wilson, executive director of IDPA.
Second place in the SSP division went to James Meyers who claimed first Master and the Most Accurate award with his time of 180.53 seconds and 27 points down. Chris Chamberlin finished third with 187.21 (72). David Dolio with 205.35 (53) and Randi Rogers with 219.85 (121) rounded out the top five. Rogers also picked up the High Lady title.
Elsewhere in the division Christopher Schatz took first Expert with 220.48 (100). Daniel Humphreys finished first Sharpshooter with 222.10 (82) and Michael Cracco claimed first Marksman with 301.91 (95).
The 2014 Smith & Wesson IDPA Indoor National Championship took place February 20-22 at the Smith & Wesson Shooting Sports Center in Springfield, Mass., drawing many of the shooting sports’ top pistol and revolver shooters from across the country and outside the U.S. Full results are available online at IDPA.com.
