BURLINGTON, Wash. — The U.S. Practical Shooting Association (USPSA), the national governing body for the sport of practical shooting, announced that the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), American Shooters and Safariland have been named gold sponsors of the upcoming STI USPSA National Handgun Championships later this month.
The STI USPSA National Handgun Championships will take place September 16-24 at the Desert Sportsman’s Rifle & Pistol Club in Las Vegas, Nev. More than 650 of the nation’s top handgun shooters, as well as competitors from Australia, Belgium, Canada, Jamaica, the Netherlands and the Philippines, are expected to compete for titles in the USPSA Open, Limited, Limited-10, Production and Revolver divisions.
“Thanks to the generous support of major sponsors like NSSF, American Shooters and Safariland, the 2011 STI USPSA National Handgun Championships are going to be one of USPSA’s largest championship events, with prizes totaling in excess of $200,000,” said Dave Thomas, executive director of USPSA.
The STI USPSA National Handgun Championships are the highlight of the practical shooting season in the United States, and in 2011, a preliminary for the International Practical Shooting Confederation’s (IPSC) triennial World Shoot which will take place in Rhodes, Greece this October 3-10.
