LOS OSOS, Calif. – Recognized as one of the top wheelgun shooters in America, David Olhasso of Holland, Pa. came through for Team Smith & Wesson with his Open division win and high overall finish at the International Confederation of Revolver Enthusiasts’ (ICORE) 3rd Annual Smith & Wesson New England Regional Revolver Championship on October 23 at the Watervliet Fish & Game Protective Association in Guilderland, N.Y.
Olhasso won three of eight stages and held off Nate Carmichael of Lovelock, Nev. by 3.75 points to win the match with a final score of 127.99.
“David is without a doubt one of the top five revolver shooters in the entire country so it’s no surprise that he’s the high overall shooter as this year’s New England regional,” said Ron Joslin of ICORE.
Carmichael, who took top honors on two stages, finished second with 131.74, followed by Eric Leach of Los Osos, Calif. with two stages and 142.26, Pete Enis of Pelham, N.H. with 153.66 and David Parker of Dunstable, Mass. with one stage win and a final score of 164.31.
Elsewhere in the division, Janet Leach of Los Osos, Calif. placed eighth in the division and finished as the High Lady in the match with 264.53. Tom Olewine of Germansville, Pa. was the top Senior competitor with 223.83 while Fred Pickard of Lehighton, Pa. finished as the top Super Senior with 272.51.
The 3rd Annual Smith & Wesson New England Regional Revolver Championship was the seventh and final event of the 2011 ICORE Regional Series presented by Smith & Wesson.
