(Grand Island, Neb.) – Team Hornady members Doug Koenig and Carl Bernosky dominated the field of international competitive shooters at the 7th NRA World Action Pistol Championships held at Blacktown Pistol Club in Sydney, Australia. Setting a world record score of 1920-188x, Doug Koenig added a Gold medal to his recent June NRA Bianchi Cup win, and Carl Bernosky, (still hot from his record breaking performance at Camp Perry in August as High Civilian in the High Power Rifle Championships) won the Silver medal with a score of 1920-181x. Both shooters relied on Hornady to achieve winning results.
The match consists of four events, Practical, Barricades, Mover Target and Falling Plates, all shot over three days. The aggregate of each individual’s score in the four events, determines the winner of the Championship and each competitor’s final placing.
When both competitors were asked which Hornady product they used Doug said, “For all four events within the match I used 115 grain XTP® because of its accuracy and reliability; it can’t be beat. As a member of Team USA & Team Hornady competing in Australia; it was an added honor making this Open division win a special one for me.”
Carl commented, “This was such a great match for me, representing Team USA & Team Hornady and shooting a perfect 1920 score in the Open division. I used Hornady 115 grain XTP® bullets because of their accuracy and dependability. I can ALWAYS count on it being consistent.”
Hornady spokesman Steve Johnson had this to say, “We are very pleased with Doug and Carl’s performances and with the way our bullets performed, we do everything we can to build the best bullets in the world; seeing them in the “winner’s circle” again means that we’re getting it done.”
