SEDRO-WOOLLEY, Wash. — The Steel Challenge Shooting Association (SCSA) announced that firearms maker Springfield Armory, optics maker ADCO and custom shotgun barrel maker Vang Comp Systems will all be gold level sponsors of the 2010 Steel Challenge World Speed Shooting Championships.
The Steel Challenge Shooting Association is the national governing body for the sport of speed shooting and organizer of the Steel Challenge. The 2010 Steel Challenge will take place August 19 through 22 in Piru, Calif., and will showcase the talents of the best shooters as they vie for the title of world’s fastest gun.
“The Steel Challenge would hardly be the Steel Challenge without these three longtime sponsors,” said Tammy Mowry, Steel Challenge sponsor coordinator. “Springfield Armory is among a handful of major gun makers that have always supported the pistol shooting sports, and their pro shooter Rob Leatham has won the title twice. ADCO has been a constant presence at the Steel Challenge with its pro shooter Vic Pickett, and the name Vang Comp is synonymous with the Steel Challenge shotgun event.”
“These three companies have always given generously to the Steel Challenge and their ongoing commitment is greatly appreciated,” added Mowry.
Springfield Armory, ADCO and Vang Comp Systems join the National Shooting Sports Foundation, Smith & Wesson, Safariland, Sig Sauer, Browning, Glock and Ruger as major sponsors of the 2010 Steel Challenge World Speed Shooting Championships.
Since the first Steel Challenge in 1981, the World Speed Shooting Championships have grown into the premier exhibition of speed shooting in the world and routinely draws the fastest shooters from around the globe.
