Smith chips away at Vadasz’s lead in NRA Open Revolver

50th NRA Police Championship to be between US Border Patrol

Albuquerque, New Mexico – Scores NRA’s Open Class Revolver 1500 aggregate match at the National Police Shooting Championships find US Border Patrol Agent Enoch Smith in the lead. That means Border Patrol teammate Robert Vadasz’s lead for the overall pistol championships isn’t as bit as it used to be … but is it enough?

Smith’s high total of 1492-111x outperformed the rest of the field and put him hot on Vadasz’s tail. Two points behind Smith at 1490-88x, odds are that Vadasz is still the apparent favorite in the overall.

Their teammates Kevin Worrell and Ben Morrow edged into third and fourth shooting a 1488-105x and 1486-96x.

The LAPD again took the fifth spot as Estevan Estrada posted a 1486-86x.

Vadasz started out with a huge lead, but Smith has been chipping away and it’s looking like he may yet pass the three-time champ for his very first title. Will Vadasz hold him off or are we a match away from a new leader in the runnings?
