SEDRO-WOOLLEY, Wash. — One of the longest running and most respected names in competitive pistol shooting, Safariland, the makers of a broad range of law enforcement and security products and services as well as competition specific holsters, will be a platinum sponsor of the 2010 Steel Challenge World Speed Shooting Championships.
Organized by the Steel Challenge Shooting Association (SCSA), the 2010 Steel Challenge World Speed Shooting Championships will take place August 19 through 22 in Piru, Calif., and along with serving as platinum sponsor, Safariland will be represented at the match by several competitive shooters, including Rob Leatham and Michel Voigt of Team Safariland.
“Safariland has a long track record of supporting the shooting sports and sponsors many of the best shooters in the world. Their continued sponsorship of the world’s biggest speed shooting event is welcome news to competitors who appreciate the company’s unwavering support for premier matches like the Steel Challenge,” said Scott Moore, Steel Challenge sponsor relations.
“The Steel Challenge is one of the best matches of the year that test speed, accuracy and patience. To see a real pro tackle these stages at the speed they do is mind boggling and fun to observe. What a show! Watch for Team Safariland members battling it out with the rest of the top shooters,” said Scott Carnahan, vice president, category marketing for Safariland and himself a top level competitive shooter.
Since the first Steel Challenge in 1981, the World Speed Shooting Championships have grown into the premier exhibition of speed shooting in the world and routinely draws the fastest shooters from around the globe.
