NSSF Sponsors 2012 IDPA National Championships

BERRYVILLE, Ark. – The International Defensive Pistol Association (IDPA) announced that the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), the trade association for the firearms, ammunition, hunting and shooting sports industry, will again play a major role in the upcoming 2012 IDPA National Championships as a gold level sponsor.

Since 2008 NSSF has served as a one of the major sponsors of the IDPA Nationals and supported the match as part of the organization’s overall mission to promote the shooting sports in America.

“For the fifth year in a row the National Shooting Sports Foundation has joined with IDPA in promoting our premier competition event, the IDPA National Championships. Their generous support of IDPA, as well as for all the shooting sports, is one of the reasons that participation is at an all time high, and IDPA membership specifically has grown more than 50% since 2008,” said Joyce Wilson, executive director of IDPA.

The IDPA National Championships is the pinnacle event of the IDPA competitive season and will take place September 19-22 at The Range in Oxford, North Carolina. More than 300 top shooters will be vying for the coveted title of National Champion in Custom Defensive Pistol, Enhanced Service Pistol, Stock Service Pistol, Stock Service Revolver and Enhanced Service Revolver, the five divisions in IDPA competition.
