MidwayUSA Foundation, Inc. Recognizes SSSF Donation

MidwayUSAFoundationLogoColumbia, MO – The MidwayUSA Foundation and Scholastic Shooting Trust, a public charity established by MidwayUSA founders Larry and Brenda Potterfield, has received a donation from the Scholastic Shooting Sports Foundation in the amount of $2,017,000. The funds were distributed to over 350 shooting team endowment accounts. This generous amount is based on each team’s participation and overall performance in not only the Scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP) events, but also the Scholastic Pistol Program (SPP) competitions.

“SSSF’s commitment to the furthering of youth shooting sports is commendable and exciting” says Dick Leeper, Executive Director of the MidwayUSA Foundation. “Their generous contribution plays a key role in our Foundation’s ongoing ability to assist shooting teams in meeting both near and long term funding requirements, ultimately permanently securing their team’s financial future.”

The MidwayUSA Foundation works with shooting teams, conservation groups and the shooting industry to raise funds in support of high school and collegiate shooting programs. Each donation, such as the money received from the Scholastic Shooting Sports Foundation, brings the Scholastic Shooting Trust another step closer to achieving sustainable support for youth shooting programs.

“Competitive shooting teams provide wonderful opportunities for students to make friends, develop confidence, and learn discipline and leadership skills,” said Larry Potterfield, Founder and CEO, MidwayUSA. “Brenda and I are elated to see SSSF participate in the MidwayUSA Foundation, Inc. and greatly appreciate their dedication in growing shooting sports across the country.”
