Judith Sczcgiel Scores High Lady At Mass. State IDPA Championship

LOGO-2013-Mass-StateBERRYVILLE, Ark. – By a mere 1.01 seconds Judith Sczcgiel edged out Tara Lyon to win the High Lady title at the 17th Annual Massachusetts State IDPA Championship, presented by Smith & Wesson.

Sczcgiel won four of the 10 stages to finish with 313.35 seconds and 101 points down competing as an Expert in the Enhanced Service Pistol division.

Lyon, who had won six stages and held the lead, fell to second after giving up 23.57 seconds to Sczcgiel on the seventh stage. Lyon finished the match with 314.36 seconds and 73 points down as a Stock Service Pistol division Sharpshooter.

Third place among the women competitors went to Kristin Brickel, a Novice in SSP, finishing with 474.38 (185). Fourth place went to Dori Smith, a Marksman in ESP, with 482.40 (170) while Samantha Galante finished fifth as an SSP Novice with 484.22 (199).

Sanctioned by the International Defensive Pistol Association (IDPA), the Massachusetts State IDPA Championship was held Saturday and Sunday, June 1-2, at the Rod & Gun Club of New Bedford located in North Dartmouth and drew 120 competitors.
