Hogue Returns As Premier Sponsor for 20th Annual S&W IRC

LOS OSOS, Calif. — The International Confederation of Revolver Enthusiasts (ICORE) announced that Hogue Inc., makers of handgun grips, rifle stocks and accessories, will again be a premier sponsor of the organization’s Annual Smith & Wesson International Revolver Championship, which celebrates its 20th year in 2011.

“Hogue is a name synonymous with revolver shooting. From the ubiquitous use of their grips by our competitors to the constant presence of brothers Aaron and Pat Hogue in wheelgun competition, shooters know that Hogue has always supported the shooting sports and we greatly appreciate their continued support of ICORE competition in particular,” said Ron Joslin of ICORE.

The 20th Annual Smith & Wesson International Revolver Championship take place June 2-5 and is hosted by the San Luis Obispo Sportsmen’s Association. The match will take place on the association’s Hogue Action Pistol Range, named after the family-owned company located in nearby Paso Robles, Calif.

“The IRC is one of my favorite matches and I’ve been a competitor since 1993, but I am most proud of our company’s ongoing sponsorship of the match. We’ve been a part of this competition since day one and are looking forward to celebrating 20 years of wheelgun excellence this June,” said Pat Hogue.

First held in 1992 with just 51 shooters in attendance, the  Smith & Wesson International Revolver Championship has become the premier gathering of top wheelgun shooters from throughout the United States and overseas.

Match officials expect this year’s event to draw more than 200 shooters who will put upwards of 70,000 rounds downrange in their quest for championship titles in the Open, Limited and Classic revolver divisions.

The match is filling up quickly but slots are still available. Those interested in entering the 20th Annual Smith & Wesson International Revolver Championship should download and return the match application as soon as possible.
