SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Team Wilson Combat returned to the winner’s circle at the Smith & Wesson IDPA Indoor National Championship as Glenn Shelby claimed the Custom Defensive Pistol title this past weekend in Springfield, Mass.
Shelby, who competes as a Distinguished Master in the division, previously won the CDP title in 2012 and is currently the reigning IDPA National Champion. He won the 2014 Smith & Wesson Indoor Nationals CDP title with a final time of 201.51 seconds with 82 points down.
“Glenn is just such a talented shooter that he makes winning in CDP look easy. It is with great pleasure that I join his fellow competitors and all IDPA members in congratulating him on his victory,” said Joyce Wilson, executive director of IDPA.
Second place in the division, finishing just 4.16 seconds out of first, was David Olhasso, a Distinguished Master shooting for Team Smith & Wesson, with 205.67 (86). Third in the division went to Robert Evans the first Master with 234.45 (87). Rounding out the top five were Team Smith & Wesson’s Dan Burwell, also a Distinguished Master, with 239.86 (104) and Team Colt’s Mark Redl with 241.19 (90).
Elsewhere in the division, Nicholas Henry finished first Expert with 244.51 (158). David Galante took home first Sharpshooter with 298.22 (124), while Andy Holton claimed first Marksman with 331.08 (151). Junior shooter Austin Proulx won High Press honors with 276.52 (104).
The 2014 Smith & Wesson IDPA Indoor National Championship took place February 20-22 at the Smith & Wesson Shooting Sports Center in Springfield, Mass., drawing many of the shooting sports’ top pistol and revolver shooters from across the country and outside the U.S. Full results are available online at IDPA.com.
