BERRYVILLE, Ark. – The International Defensive Pistol Assn. (IDPA) announced that FMG Publications, one of the leading magazine publishers catering to the firearms enthusiast and shooting sports participant, will be a major sponsor of the 2014 Smith & Wesson IDPA Indoor National Championship.
Now in its 17th year, the Smith & Wesson IDPA Indoor Nationals is among the shooting sports’ most popular matches, once again selling out in record time. The match will take place February 20-22 on the indoor ranges of the Smith & Wesson Shooting Sports Center in Springfield, Massachusetts.
“IDPA is pleased to again be partnering with FMG Publications. Over the years, FMG has been a dedicated proponent of the shooting sports, as well as extremely generous with their support for IDPA competitions in particular,” said Robert Ray, membership and marketing director for IDPA.
FMG Publications joins Apex Tactical Specialties, Colt, Comp-Tac Victory Gear, CORBON, the National Shooting Sports Foundation, Nighthawk Custom, Panteao Productions, Rand Brands, Wilson Combat and Smith & Wesson, the title sponsor, in supporting the match. As part of their support, FMG Publications will sponsor one of the 14 stages in the course of fire.
“Our titles influence countless gun product purchases each year. The logical next step is getting the gear out of the box and on to the range. Smith & Wesson and IDPA matches offer plenty of get-off-the-couch solutions. We’re proud to once again sponsor this shooting season kick-off event,” said Randy Molde, VP for business development at FMG Publications.
The Smith & Wesson IDPA Indoor National Championship represents the official start of IDPA’s competition season and is regarded as one of the finest competitive shooting matches in the country, thanks to broad industry support from companies like FMG Publications.
More than 300 of the sport’s best shooters are expected to compete for titles in Custom Defensive Pistol, Enhanced Service Pistol, Stock Service Pistol, Stock Service Revolver and Enhanced Service Revolver, the five divisions within IDPA.
