David Dolio Claims SSP Title At IDPA’s S&W New England Regional

David DolioHARVARD, Mass. – In the match’s most heavily contested division, David Dolio claimed the Stock Service Pistol title at the Smith & Wesson New England Regional IDPA Championship.

Dolio topped a field of over 100 shooters and racked up wins on five of 14 stages before posting his final winning run of 299.37 seconds and 104 points down. The Master class shooter outpaced his nearest competitor, Brian Steskla, by just 3.88 seconds.

“David is an excellent shooter, one of the best, and you have to be when you’re competing in the Stock Service Pistol division where so many of New England’s shooters compete,” said Bob Biehl, match director for the 2013 New England Regional.

With two stage wins and his final time of 303.25, and 66 points down, Steskla placed second as the first Master. Lee Adams won High Military Veteran honors, taking third in the division and second Master with one stage win and 312.99 (63), while Matthew Farley finished fourth for first Expert with 326.46 (100) and Rob Lacroix placed fifth for third Master with three stage wins and 329.41 (129).

Elsewhere in the division, Mason Lane, an Expert, won the High Junior title with 375.02 (89). Michael French finished first Sharpshooter with 384.20 (106). Jack Hamel took first Marksman with 491.57 (196). And High Lady honors went to Tara Lyon, a Sharpshooter, with 515.15 (214).

Sanctioned by the International Defensive Pistol Association (IDPA) the Smith & Wesson New England Regional IDPA Championship was held Friday, Saturday and Sunday, August 16-18, at the Harvard Sportsmen’s Club located in Harvard, Massachusetts and drew 189 competitors.
