BERRYVILLE, Ark. – Comp-Tac Victory Gear, a leading manufacturer of holsters and accessories, continues its ongoing support for IDPA competition with its sponsorship of the inaugural Smith & Wesson IDPA Back Up Gun Nationals.
Comp-Tac Victory Gear joins Apex Tactical Specialties, Brownells, FMG Publications, Harris Publications, Michigan Ammo Company, the National Shooting Sports Foundation, the Self Defense Association, SIG SAUER, Springfield Armory, Taurus, Wilson Combat and Smith & Wesson, the title sponsor, in supporting this latest IDPA national championship event. As part of their support, Comp-Tac will sponsor one of the 13 stages in the course of fire.
“IDPA is blessed with many great working relationships with industry leaders and Comp-Tac is one of the companies that tops that list. Their sponsorship of the Smith & Wesson Back Up Gun Nationals reflects their deep commitment to this sport and its members, and we can not thank them enough,” said Joyce Wilson, executive director of IDPA.
“Supporting IDPA has been an extremely rewarding experience for Comp-Tac Victory Gear. Our support of the sport has given us a greater understanding of the firearms market and our customers through the feedback of the participants. The Back Up Gun Nationals will be an excellent opportunity for Comp-Tac to better understand consumer desires for carry options for sub-compact pistols and revolvers,” explained Gregg Garrett, owner and president of Comp-Tac Victory Gear.
The Smith & Wesson IDPA Back Up Gun Nationals will take place November 14-16 and feature a 13-stage course of fire with a round count of 180. Held on the indoor ranges of the Smith & Wesson Shooting Sports Center in Springfield, Massachusetts, match officials expect the event to draw upwards of 200 top IDPA shooters vying for titles in either the Pistol or Revolver division.
Registration is open and just a handful of slots are still available for those interested in competing. Registration is being conducted online at MatchReg.com/BUG.
