LOS OSOS, Calif. — Tim Colby put in a dominating performance at the 2010 Central States Regional Revolver Championship this past Sunday in Buchanan, Mich., where he won all but one of eight stages on his way to claiming the Retro division title.
The West Lafayette, Ind. resident finished 14th overall in the match and outpaced his nearest division competitor, Randy Ciesiolka of South Bend, Ind., by 68.58 seconds with his final time of 296.26. “Our new Retro division is pulling in quite a few top shooters and Tim is right there among them,” said Art Leach, spokesman for ICORE. “His commanding performance, winning all but one, gave him the greatest margin of victory of any of the division winners.”
The regional championship, which was organized by the International Confederation of Revolver Enthusiasts (ICORE) and sponsored by firearms maker Smith & Wesson, drew 93 tops shooters from throughout region.
Placing third, and claiming the Retro Senior title, was Jim Barbour of Westfield, Ind. who posted a final time of 434.82 seconds.
Rounding out the top five were Blair Cooper of Paw Paw, Mich. who finished fourth in 445.21 seconds, and the only woman competing in the division, T.D. Roe of Lemont, Ill. in fifth with a final time of 449.79.
The ICORE Central States Regional Revolver Championship was held at the Bend of the River Conservation Club on Sunday, July 18. The competition drew shooters from California, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Michigan, New York, Ohio, Tennessee, West Virginia and Wisconsin.
