SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. – San Luis Obispo Sportsman’s Association (SLOSA) announced solidified sponsor agreements with local businesses as well as some of the big names in the firearms industry for their 2nd Annual SLOSA Expo scheduled to take place October 13, 2013.
The SLOSA Expo, held on California’s beautiful central coast, is aimed at boosting public awareness of gun safety and attracting first-time participants to the shooting sports. The 2012 inaugural event boasted strong sponsor support helping it draw over 1,500 attendees. This year’s sponsors include:
Savage Arms (www.savagearms.com) was the first to step up and show their support for the Expo and will be displaying their rifles on the SLOSA Silhouette range, as well as bringing out some big guns for show-tell & shoot.
Silverado Bus Stages (www.silveradostages.com), one of the largest privately owned bus operators based in California, has signed on as the official transportation sponsor for the SLOSA Expo. Silverado Lines will be providing attendee transportation to and from the nearby parking lots specially set aside for those attending the Expo.
Kings Oil Tools (www.kingsoiltools.com), a privately owned local tool supplier to the oil industry, was a contributing sponsor last year and has returned again showing their enthusiastic support for the event.
Spartan Training Resources (www.spartantrainingresources.com), a native San Luis Obispo firearms training organization and returning supporter, will be on hand to let the attendees know that quality training and safe gun handling expertise is available locally right here in San Luis Obispo County.
Federal Premium Ammunition (www.federalpremium.com), manufacturers of top quality ammunition, have come on board as an event sponsor and are supplying cases of 12ga. shotgun ammunition for the trap and skeet ranges for the Expo.
“Last year we expected 400 attendees and were blown away when over 1,500 showed. This year we are hoping to see around 3,000,” said Maddy Cooley, lead organizer of the SLOSA Expo.
“You can talk about your love of the shooting sports to the public all day long, but I believe that when you actually get someone behind a gun, you educate them, and show them how much fun it can be, that’s when you’ve made a convert out of them. With the present political climate we feel that the Expo is the perfect way to educate our neighbors on gun safety, share our love of the shooting sports, and let the public know that gun owners are their friends and neighbors, and just like them.”
The 2013 SLOSA Expo will be held on October 13th at the SLOSA Range in San Luis Obispo, Calif. from 9:00am to 4:00pm. Special parking arrangements have been made at a nearby facility to provide ample parking for the attendees.
