Ain’t To Proud To Tear Down….Even though he finished the match on Friday, Glock’s Dave Sevigny returned Sunday not simply to pick up his “God of the Production Gun” award plaque, but to lend a hand in tearing down the stage he designed. Of course he did find a little time to show off his slap shot.
We’ll Be Here All Weekend, Don’t Forget To Tip Your Waitress….Glock’s other shooting deity, Randi “The Only Woman Production Master” Rogers was also on hand both Saturday and Sunday with her husband Keith Butler. Both shot the match on Friday but were a constant presence on the range all three days, following fellow shooters still competing lending moral support.
96 ROs On The Wall, Take One Down, Send Them Around….Bruce Wells told me that the Area 6 match had 96 range officers working the match, with many coming in from out of town. Bruce made the trip up from Jacksonville, which is in the Area 6 region, but others came in from outside USPSA’s southern zone. Many matches have trouble finding enough ROs to run a sizable match, and even more difficulty finding so many that are or could be on the RO list for the Nationals. This was a very well run operation with a very dedicated staff.
Thrashers Swag….I don’t know who managed to get what but the stage sponsored by the Atlanta Thrashers was decorated with all sorts of Thrashers swag including a big log flag, signed hockey sticks and pucks. Whoever was smart enough to head that way during tear down to grab some swag, good on you.
And So It Ends….You can close the books on the 2010 USPSA Area 6 Handgun Championship. Until next year, so long.
