SEDRO-WOOLLEY, Wash. – The U.S. Practical Shooting Association’s (USPSA) Area 6 Regional Handgun Championship is set to begin Friday with a host of industry sponsors, making this one of the top shooting matches of the season.
Sig Sauer, Cameron’s Custom Guns and Gargoyle are just the latest companies to have stepped up in support of the championship which takes place at the Universal Shooting Academy in Frostproof, Fla. April 15-17.
“The final preparations are underway to make this year’s Area 6 Championship one of the best ever. Thanks to Sig Sauer, Cameron’s Custom Guns and Gargoyle, as well as the many other companies within the shooting sports industry that have supported this match, the competitors will once again experience a nationals-level championship,” said Linda Chico, the USPSA Area 6 director.
The USPSA Area 6 Regional Handgun Championship is among the most popular matches on the competitive shooting circuit due not only to its strong industry support, but also to the outstanding stage design and professionalism of its range officers and staff.
At testament to it’s popularity, the match has already registered more than 365 top shooters representing 26 states – including Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee, the states that make up the Area 6 region – Puerto Rico, Canada, Jamaica, Ecuador, Venezuela, and Brazil. Match officials expect as many as 380 competitors when shooting begins Friday morning.
Besides Sig Sauer, Cameron’s Custom Guns and Gargoyle, the USPSA Area 6 Regional Handgun Championship has also gained support from Freedom Gun Works, Hornady Manufacturing, Red Dot Shooting, Inc., STI International and UniqueTek.
Previously announced sponsors include Competitive Edge Dynamics, EarScopes, Glock, GPI Custom Gunworks, Heckler & Koch USA, Millennium Custom Guns, Nevco Targets, Otis Technology, Rescomp/CR Speed, Rudy Project, Spot on Supply, Springfield Armory, Surefire, TechWear USA and Velocity Shooter.
