SEDRO-WOOLLEY, Wash. – Some of the biggest and best known names in the shooting sports have joined the growing list of sponsors for the U.S. Practical Shooting Association’s (USPSA) Area 6 Regional Handgun Championship. Heckler & Koch USA, Millennium Custom Guns, Rudy Project and Surefire have each signed on to sponsor stages at the run-and-gun championship which will be held April 15-17 at the Universal Shooting Academy in Frostproof, Fla.
“With the first regional championship of the USPSA season just days away, support from the shooting industry continues to grow. Thanks to Heckler & Koch USA, Millennium Custom Guns, Rudy Project, Surefire and the rest of our sponsors, the 2011 Area 6 Regional Handgun Championship is shaping up to be another great match on a par with our national championships,” said Linda Chico, the USPSA Area 6 director.
The USPSA Area 6 Regional Handgun Championship is one of the most popular matches on the competitive shooting circuit and has already drawn over 350 shooters representing 26 states – including Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee, the states that make up the Area 6 region – Puerto Rico, Canada, Jamaica, Ecuador, Venezuela, and Brazil. Match officials expect upwards of 380 competitors when the shooting starts this Friday.
Besides Heckler & Koch USA, Millennium Custom Guns, Rudy Project and Surefire, Nevco Targets and Spot on Supply are also supporting the match. Previously announced sponsors include Competitive Edge Dynamics, EarScopes, Glock, GPI Custom Gunworks, Otis Technology, Rescomp/CR Speed, Springfield Armory, TechWear USA and Velocity Shooter. Match officials expect to announce additional sponsors later this week.
