HOUSTON, Texas – GLC Shooting Academy announced that 15 GLC students took home trophies at the 2014 Comp-Tac Republic of Texas IDPA Championship held this past weekend in Cresson, Texas.
Among the match honors won by GLC students were five match bumps, which moves shooters to the next highest skill level classification in the sport, as well as five classification wins. Founded by Gordon Carrell the GLC Shooting Academy is a Texas based shooting school dedicated to improving shooters’ skills for recreation, competition or self-defense.
“Seeing your students perform to the best of their ability is a rewarding experience for any instructor. To watch as 15 of them collect trophies, including classification wins, at the state championship match is a very proud moment. It is with great pleasure that I congratulate each of them for a job very well done,” said Gordon Carrell.
In addition to being represented in the match by numerous students, the GLC Shooting Academy was one of the major sponsors of this year’s championship.
Serving as the state’s premier defensive pistol shooting competition and state championship match, the 2014 Comp-Tac Republic of Texas IDPA Championship took place Saturday, May 24 at the Triple C Tactical Range. The event was hosted by the Collin County IDPA club.
