There is absolutely no truth to the rumor that the AMU shooters shot the match Friday and promptly left so they wouldn’t have to salute the Air Force Shooting Team which shot on Saturday.
The USAF does not have a dedicated shooting program comparable to the Army’s Marksmanship Unit but it does have some very good shooters. Many USPSA members know production division shooter Roger Sherman, also known by his alias, Lt. Col. Roger Sherman USAF (stand at attention when you read this), but he could not make it to Area 6. However, Maj. Steve Dennis, Spcl. Agent Adam Painchaud, MSgt. Edwin Gideons and Capt. Nick Seisser were on hand to shoot and intimidate any AMU guys with their superior rank and serious “day jobs.”
Dennis (25th), Gideons (28th) and Seisser (38th) shot in the Limited division while Painchaud competed in Production (42nd). FYI…a couple of these guys may have shot targets with more of a third dimension to them if you know what I mean. Great guys and great to have on our side.
