SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Weston Land outgunned Ashley Rheuark, the reining National Junior Champion, to claim the High Junior title at the 2014 Smith & Wesson IDPA Indoor National Championship.
Land competed in the Stock Service Pistol division as a Master and finished in a final time of 238.21 seconds with 69 points down.
“Congratulations to Weston on a great match performance. He faced strong competition and came out on top with the title,” said Joyce Wilson, executive director of IDPA.
Just 11.70 seconds behind in second place was Rheuark who posted a time of 249.91 with 91 points down after competing as a Master in the Enhanced Service Pistol division. Third place went to Padraic Sullivan, an SSP Sharpshooter, with 265.78 (94), while fourth place went to the defending High Junior, Austin Proulx, who finished with 276.52 (104) as an Expert in the Custom Defensive Pistol division. Rounding out the top five was Mason Lane, an SSP Master with 292.64 (155).
The 2014 Smith & Wesson IDPA Indoor National Championship took place February 20-22 at the Smith & Wesson Shooting Sports Center in Springfield, Mass., drawing many of the shooting sports’ top pistol and revolver shooters from across the country and outside the U.S. Full results are available online at IDPA.com.
