HARVARD, Mass. – For the second year in a row Gene Gelberger has taken the Enhanced Service Revolver division title at the Smith & Wesson New England Regional IDPA Championship.
Sanctioned by the International Defensive Pistol Association (IDPA), the Smith & Wesson New England Regional IDPA Championship was held Friday, Saturday and Sunday, August 16-18, at the Harvard Sportsmen’s Club located in Harvard, Massachusetts and drew 189 competitors.
Gelberger, classified a Master within the division, won 11 of 14 stages in the match, posting a final winning time of 382.29 seconds with 109 points down.
“As New England wheelgunners go, Gene is one of the best and he proves that time and time again,” observed Bob Biehl, match director for the 2013 New England Regional.
Placing second in the division was William Richards, an Expert class shooter, with 445.89 (118). Jerry Richard, also an Expert, placed third with 508.84 (120) while Marksman Andrew MacGray took fourth with 520.24 (127).
