BERRYVILLE, Ark. – Safariland, a leading holster manufacturer and longtime supporter of the shooting sports, will be a major sponsor of the International Defensive Pistol Association’s (IDPA) 2013 Puerto Rico IDPA National Championship taking place in Caguas, Puerto Rico on March 16 and 17.
The Puerto Rico IDPA Nationals have received significant support from the shooting sports industry. Along with Safariland, the championship is being sponsored by Blade-Tech, Century International Arms, Comp-Tac Victory Gear, Fiocchi Ammunition, Fobus Holsters & Pouches, Uncle Mike’s Law Enforcement and Smith & Wesson.
In addition to sponsoring the championship, Safariland will be represented in the competition by Team Safariland member Bobby McGee.

Hosted by the RL Shooting Club and organized by match director Max Rivera and assistant match director Tom Yost of Smith & Wesson, this year’s Puerto Rico IDPA Nationals will bring together over 150 top shooters from Costa Rica, Mexico, Puerto Rico, the United States and Venezuela.
“The Puerto Rico IDPA Nationals is expanding IDPA’s international presence and emerging as a key early season match for shooters. We are proud to be one of the sponsors and wish Team Safariland members good luck and a fun, safe match for all,” said Scott Carnahan, VP of Safariland and Bianchi.
The 2013 Puerto Rico IDPA National Championship will feature a 12-stage course of fire with a round count of 190. Registration for the match is open and slots are still available. The match fee is just $120.

U.S. shooters interested in competing in the Puerto Rico IDPA Nationals should register by March 10 in order to insure their firearms permitting paperwork is processed in time for the match.
