Recognized as a business leader in her community and her state, Barbara Hayden of Starline Brass recently received the “Governor’s Minority and Small Business Award” at the 2012 Governor’s Conference on Economic Development in St. Louis, Missouri.
The Governor’s Minority and Small Business Award is presented to a business leader that has demonstrated outstanding success by the contributions they have made to their community and its economy. This award recognizes minority and small businesses that have excelled in meeting the award criteria. The award goes to companies with 100 or fewer employees and have operated in the State of Missouri for a minimum of three years. The company must also give back to the community through volunteerism and contributions or in-kind services. Starline easily met the operation requirements, and Barbara Hayden has exceeded the community involvement expectations.
“As Vice President of Starline Brass, Barbara is certainly deserving of this award,” said Linda Christle, Executive Director of Economic Development of Sedalia/Pettis County. “The list of her donations of time and resources is endless, and we are proud that she has been recognized on a state-wide level,” Christle added.
