EXETER, N.H. (August 6, 2012) — Max Michel, Jr., successfully defended his title at the United States Practical Shooting Association Area 3 Championship this weekend in Grand Island, Neb.
In his return to the USPSA Open Division, Michel battled the blistering heat and the blazing competition to retain his title. Michel won the 2012 Area 6 and Area 1 Single-Stack Division titles with his signature SIG SAUER® 1911 Max pistol.
“Looking at the field at Area 3, it looked like a solid group of Open competitors,” Michel said. “I was hoping it would turn out to be a good race and I wasn’t disappointed.”
Michel finished with a final score of 1837.9943 match points, some 57.3658 points ahead of the runner-up.
Next up for Michel is the USPSA Area 7 Championship in Harvard, Mass., in early September.
