Team Hornady® Winning Streak Continues with May 2012 Matches

Grand Island, NE – Team Hornady® members spread out across the country in May, using award-winning Hornady® products to win several major competitions.

Max Michel returned to the Magnolia and Pistol Club Range in Jackson, Miss., the place where he kicked off his competitive years. This time around he won the overall Single Stack Division in the 2012 Mississippi Classic on May 20th, shooting Hornady® 45 caliber 230 grain HAP® bullets. Fellow Team Hornady® member, Blake Miguez, shot Hornady® 40 caliber 200 grain XTP® projectiles to place first in the overall Limited Division. The popular USPSA 10-stage match set a new attendance record with 232 competitors from 11 states, as well as Norway, Jamaica and the Philippines.

Team Hornady® also ventured to the rolling farmlands of Central Missouri, to compete at the 2012 CMMG Midwest 3-Gun Championships, May 18-20, at the Fire for Effect Range in Fayette. Held as part of the 3-Gun Nation Divisional point series, the match attracted 200 of the best shooters in the world. Barry Dueck finished second in Tactical Optics Heavy division, using Hornady® 308 168-grain A-MAX® in his rifle. “Hornady 168-grain A-MAX has great reliability in my LMT rifle and makes a solid impact on steel targets,” he said.

Jared Milinazzo took third in Tactical Optics, shooting Hornady® 40 caliber 180- grain HAP® bullets in his pistol, and Hornady® 68-grain BTHP in his 5.56 rifle. Jeff Cramblit finished in the top 10 percent of Tactical Irons division, shooting Hornady® 9mm 124-grain bullets in his pistol, and Hornady® 223 Rem 53-grain Superformance® in his rifle.

Bobby McGee

Team Hornady’s® Bobby McGee has been especially impressive in IDPA matches this year, winning the 2012 Central Valley California Regional IDPA match, held May 12th, in Bakersfield. McGee said, “I use Hornady® 147- grain 9mm FMJ because they’re soft shooting bullets, and I can depend on their unparalleled accuracy.” Bobby has placed first in his last four IDPA matches.
