LOS OSOS, Calif. – Bob Powell of Springfield, Mass. won the Limited division title at the International Confederation of Revolver Enthusiasts’ (ICORE) 3rd Annual Smith & Wesson New England Regional Revolver Championship on October 23 at the Watervliet Fish & Game Protective Association in Guilderland, N.Y.
Winning six of eight stages in the match, Powell placed eighth overall with a final score of 206.54, a 66.23 point margin over his nearest competitor.
“Bob shot a great match to finish eighth overall among all the competitors in the three divisions,” said Ron Joslin of ICORE.
Rounding out the top five were Sean Cheney of Harwinton, Conn. in second with one stage win and a score of 272.77, followed by John Major of Rotterdam, N.Y. With 278.66, Michael Phillips of Rouses Point, N.Y. with one stage win and 284.14, and Patrick Foley of Jim Thorpe, Pa. with 310.74.
Maryann Melisi of Schenectady, N.Y., the only woman competing in the division, finished eighth with a score of 394.30.
The 3rd Annual Smith & Wesson New England Regional Revolver Championship was the seventh and final event of the 2011 ICORE Regional Series presented by Smith & Wesson.
