LOS OSOS, Calif. – Jess Christensen of Berryville, Ark., won six of eight stages on his way to claiming the International Confederation of Revolver Enthusiasts’ (ICORE) Limited division title at the Smith & Wesson Central States Regional Revolver Championship on Sunday, July 17 at the Bend of the River Conservation Club in Buchanan, Mich.
Christensen finished the match with a winning time of 235.98 seconds, putting him second overall in the match as well as outpacing his nearest division competitor, Sam Keen of McNairy, Tenn., by 28.26 seconds.
“Jess shot an outstanding match at the Central States Regional and not only did he win his division, but was able to finish just 4.78 seconds out of first place overall,” said Ron Joslin of ICORE.
Second place in the match went to Keen who won one stage, the seventh, and finished with a final time of 264.24 seconds. Brent Roberts of Warsaw, Ind. took third with 266.01 seconds. Rounding out the top five were Phillip Proietti in fourth place with a stage win on stage four of the match and a time of 304.01, and Christopher Comer in fifth with 313.00 seconds.
Among the senior competitors in the division, Bob Perdue of Falling Waters, W.V. took the Senior Limited title with a time of 355.78, finishing sixth within the division and 17th overall.
The Smith & Wesson Central States Regional Revolver Championship was the third of seven events in the 2011 ICORE Regional Series presented by Smith & Wesson. The next event is the Smith & Wesson East Coast Regional Revolver Championship on Sunday, September 25 in New Tripoli, Pa. at the Ontelaunee Rod & Gun Club range.
