LOS OSOS, Calif. – John Bagakis of Livermore, Calif. continued his win streak by capturing the Limited division title at the International Confederation of Revolver Enthusiasts’ (ICORE) Smith & Wesson Rocky Mountain Regional Revolver Championship this past weekend at the Weld County Fish & Wildlife High Plains Shooting Range in Galeton, Colo.
Bagakis, who shoots for Team Smith & Wesson, won all eight stages in the match to finish 26.71 seconds ahead of his Smith & Wesson teammate, Tony Phan of Webster, Texas, with a final time of 200.60 seconds.
Earlier this season Bagakis won the Limited title at the Smith & Wesson Southwest Revolver Regional as well as the Smith & Wesson International Revolver Championship.
“John continues to stake his claim as the top Limited division revolver shooter in the nation. His dominating performance at the Rocky Mountain Regional is a testament to the hard work and dedication John has put in to mastering the wheelgun,” said Ron Joslin of ICORE.
Rounding out the top five in Limited division competition were Phan in second with a time of 227.31, John Burkholder of Arvada, Colo. in third with 242.32, Nathan Carmichael of Lovelock, Nev. in fourth with 262.56 and Hoser Freeman in fifth with 275.41.
The Smith & Wesson Rocky Mountain Regional Revolver Championship was the second of seven events in the 2011 ICORE Regional Series presented by Smith & Wesson. The next event is the Smith & Wesson Central States Regional Revolver Championship on Sunday, July 17 in Buchanan, Mich. at the Bend of the River Conservation Club range.
