BERRYVILLE, Ark. – The International Defensive Pistol Association (IDPA) and Smith & Wesson announced that the National Rifle Association will sponsor the awards banquet at the 2015 Smith & Wesson IDPA Indoor Nationals taking place later this month.
“The shooting sports in America thrive today because of the great work of the National Rifle Association. Whether it’s promoting firearms safety, training legions of certified firearms instructors or fighting to protect every American’s second amendment rights, the NRA has proven over and over again it is the best friend a gun owner can have. And thanks to their generous sponsorship of our awards banquet, the NRA is also a great friend to both IDPA and Smith & Wesson,” said Joyce Wilson, executive director of IDPA.
The National Rifle Association joins ACADEMI, Apex Tactical Specialties, FMG Publications, XS Sight Systems and Smith & Wesson, the title sponsor, in supporting the IDPA Indoor Nationals.
“The National Rifle Association is very proud to support both IDPA and Smith & Wesson in bringing IDPA members another great Indoor National Championship. Millions of Americans enjoy the freedoms bestowed on us by our constitution and in particular the second amendment. There is no better expression of those freedoms than when we gather together in friendly competition and share our time spent on the range with friends and family,” said Joe De Bergalis, member of the NRA’s Board of Directors.
The Smith & Wesson IDPA Indoor National Championship, now in its 18th consecutive year, serves as the official start of the IDPA season. The 2015 match will take place February 26-28 and draws upwards of 350 of the best IDPA shooters to Springfield, Massachusetts to compete on the indoor ranges of the Smith & Wesson Shooting Sports Center.
