Ithaca Gun Company Sponsors World Speed Shooting Championships

BURLINGTON, Wash. – Ithaca Gun Company, one of the best known names in premium shotguns, has been named a platinum sponsor of the 2011 Steel Challenge World Speed Shooting Championships taking place August 18-21 in Piru, Calif., it was announced by officials with the Steel Challenge Shooting Association (SCSA).

Ithaca Gun Company joins previously announced platinum sponsors the National Shooting Sports Foundation, Safariland, Sig Sauer, Sturm, Ruger & Co. and Smith & Wesson.

“The name Ithaca is one of the most recognized, and historic, names in shotgun manufacturing. We’re proud to have them on board as a major sponsor of one of the shooting sports biggest events,” said Tammy Mowry, Steel Challenge sponsor coordinator.

Organized by SCSA, the national governing body for the sport of speed shooting, the Steel Challenge World Speed Shooting Championships bring together the fastest shooters from around the globe to compete in an all out race speed shooting race for the title of world’s fastest gun.

First held in 1981, the Steel Challenge celebrates its 30th anniversary and it’s final year in Golden State as the match moves to Florida in 2012.
