For many people, home is located in an apartment complex, possibly even a college dorm room.  Being in this situation creates a number of different security issues; roommates and their friends, proximity of neighbors and the realities of the physical barriers that you can actually put in place.  While there may be challenges in setting up your best defense in this type of environment, there are also a number of measures you can take to make your apartment a safer environment for you and the people you care about.  Mike Janich walks you through the things to look for when choosing an apartment, as well as things you can add for security.
